TLDR AcSDKP may help prevent skin and hair aging and promote their growth.
The document from April 18, 2013, presents findings on the tetrapeptide AcSDKP and its potential cosmetic applications for skin and hair anti-aging. AcSDKP was shown to stimulate the growth of various skin cells, including keratinocytes, fibroblasts, and follicle dermal papilla cells, and to enhance the growth of epidermal progenitor and stem cells. Topical application of AcSDKP increased epidermal thickness and upregulated the synthesis of key skin proteins and compounds, suggesting improved skin structure and function. In hair follicles, AcSDKP promoted hair shaft elongation and stimulated hair growth. The peptide also improved the epidermal barrier, activated SIRT1 protein synthesis, and exhibited anti-inflammatory properties. These results indicate that AcSDKP could be used to prevent skin aging, promote cutaneous regeneration, prevent hair loss, and stimulate hair growth, although in vivo tests on human volunteers are necessary to confirm these effects.
