TLDR Researchers developed a simple, low-cost method to accurately measure Aminexil in hair tonic.
In 2019, researchers developed a validated spectrophotometric method to measure Aminexil concentration in a hair tonic that also contained niacinamide and pyridoxine. The method, which adhered to ICH guidelines, showed a linear calibration curve for Aminexil between 2-10 µg/mL and demonstrated high accuracy (100.22 ± 0.53%). The limit of detection was 0.53 µg/mL, and the limit of quantification was 1.6 µg/mL. The mean recovery rate was 99.68 ± 0.56%. This technique was highlighted for its simplicity and cost-effectiveness, making it suitable for routine quality control without the need for complex or expensive equipment.
