TLDR A new method was created to accurately measure minoxidil and aminexil in hair loss treatments.
The document describes the creation and validation of an RP-HPLC method for measuring minoxidil and aminexil in topical hair loss treatments. The method demonstrated high accuracy and precision, with a linearity range of 1.0-2.0 mg/mL and a correlation coefficient of 0.99. Recovery of the drugs averaged at 101.0% with a very low relative standard deviation of 0.14%. Detection limits for minoxidil and aminexil were 0.7346 µg/mL and 0.2423 µg/mL, respectively. Validated according to ICH guidelines, the method proved to be simple and reliable, unaffected by other substances in the formulation, and is appropriate for regular use in analyzing these drugs in both raw and pharmaceutical forms.
