TLDR Medication 1 improved hair quality and growth more effectively than medication 2 and the placebo.
A study involving 72 female patients evaluated the effectiveness of two vitamin B-group and L-cystine-based treatments compared to a placebo for diffuse effluvium and hair structure damage. Over 4 months, hair quality and growth were assessed using hair swelling and anagen rates. Active medication 1 showed significantly better results than the placebo, while active medication 2 was better than the placebo but less effective than medication 1. The additional ingredients in medication 1 enhanced its efficacy, which could not be matched by the higher L-cystine content in medication 2. Both treatments were well-tolerated with no adverse effects reported.
