TLDR Scalp massages and medical treatments for hair loss are more satisfying than folk remedies.
This study investigated 300 hair loss patients in Daejeon and Chungcheong, analyzing their hair loss characteristics and satisfaction with management behaviors. The participants were 36.7% male and 63.3% female, with the highest age group in their 50s (48.0%). The primary causes of hair loss were mental stress (32.8%), genetic factors (23.2%), and incorrect scalp hair management habits (10.9%). Female pattern hair loss was most common, particularly at the anterior head. The most frequent management behavior was scalp massage, which, along with oral treatments, topical medications, and hair transplants, had above-average satisfaction (average 3.16). Folk remedies had below-average satisfaction. These findings provide valuable data for future research in hair loss management.
