Study of Perm-damage to Hair and Protection by Conditioner

    Zheng Sai
TLDR Both conditioners help protect hair from perm damage, but their effectiveness varies.
The study investigated the effects of perm damage on hair using ammonium thioglycolate applied 1, 2, or 3 times, assessing damage through surface morphological changes and mechanical properties. A model for perm-damaged hair was established, and the protective effects of two conditioners, Protective factor C and Keratin, were compared. The study concluded that both conditioners provided some level of protection against perm-induced damage, with differences in effectiveness observed between the two.
