TLDR Sry may regulate fatty acid metabolism and shows different expression levels in rat tissues.
The study investigated the expression of the transcription factor Sry in five adult male rat tissues and its correlation with Acsl3 transcript expression. Sry was found to be expressed in the cerebral cortex, ventricle, atrium, aorta, and skeletal muscle of WKY, SHR/y, and SHR male rats, with significant differences in expression levels across tissues and strains. Notably, Sry expression in the cerebral cortex was significantly higher than in other tissues. The study also found that total Sry transcript expression correlated strongly with Acsl3 expression (R2=0.78), suggesting a potential regulatory role of Sry in fatty acid metabolism. These findings indicated differential functions of Sry loci and highlighted its possible involvement in metabolic processes.
