TLDR A rare eyelid tumor was successfully diagnosed and removed, highlighting the need for careful examination.
The document reported a rare case of a solitary fibrofolliculoma on the right lower eyelid of a 50-year-old man, which was initially misdiagnosed as sebaceous gland carcinoma. Fibrofolliculomas are benign tumors that are typically part of Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome, but in this case, no syndromic association was found. The tumor was excised, and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. The postoperative period was uneventful, with no recurrence observed after 3 months. The study highlighted the importance of considering solitary fibrofolliculoma in firm nodular eyelid lesions and emphasized the necessity of histopathological examination for accurate diagnosis.
