TLDR Skin diseases are common in Greece and significantly affect people's lives and well-being.
This population-based survey in Greece, involving 1,010 participants, revealed that 47.8% reported at least one skin disease or condition in the past year, with fungal infections (7.5%), alopecia (5.7%), and atopic dermatitis (5%) being the most common. The study highlighted significant impacts on quality of life, with 68.1% experiencing personal life disruptions and 51% noting impacts on self-care time. Work-life was affected for 22.2% of participants, and stigmatization was reported by 12%. The findings emphasize the need for targeted public health initiatives to address the high prevalence and societal impact of skin diseases in Greece.
