TLDR Most participants had dry skin and scalp issues, needing more research.
The study of 25 healthy adults aged 10-40 analyzed skin characteristics to support the development of herbal topical applications. It revealed that participants' skin was objectively drier than self-reported, with the scalp being drier than the face. Women had higher oil and moisture content than men. The findings emphasized the need for products targeting dandruff, scalp itching, hair loss prevention, and improving hair texture and scalp moisture. Despite its small sample size and seasonal limitations, the study offered foundational data for future product development.
