TLDR Low levels of ferritin and vitamin B12 are common in women with telogen effluvium, but the link between nutrient deficiencies and the condition is not clear.
The study retrospectively analyzed serum levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, and folate in 248 female patients with telogen effluvium (TE) and found that 31.7% had low ferritin levels, 21.2% had low vitamin B12 levels, and 2.6% had low folate levels. The relationship between these deficiencies and TE remains unclear, with mixed evidence from various studies. The study highlighted the need for further prospective controlled studies to better understand the connection between nutrient deficiencies and TE, as the retrospective design of this study posed limitations on the data collected.

community Minoxidil can prevent hair follicle miniaturization!?

in Minoxidil  6 upvotes 4 years ago
Minoxidil can prevent hair follicle miniaturization, not just stimulate hair growth. Finasteride and dutasteride don't work for everyone, suggesting DHT may not be the sole cause of hair loss; hair loss could be due to multiple factors, including autoimmune conditions.
