in “Journal of The American Academy of Dermatology”
TLDR Oral bicalutamide is safe and effective for female hair loss.
A retrospective review of 316 female patients with pattern hair loss who were treated with oral bicalutamide found that it was a safe and effective treatment option. The medication was well-tolerated and had no significant adverse effects. The study suggests that oral bicalutamide may be a viable treatment option for female pattern hair loss, but further studies are needed to confirm its efficacy. The most common adverse effect was mild elevation of liver transaminases in some patients. Overall, the study concludes that oral bicalutamide is safe for treating female pattern hair loss.
