TLDR Minoxidil-based alopecia treatments are common in Ukraine, but there's a shortage of combined medicines and few domestic options.
The 2019 study by Karim et al. from Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, Ukraine, conducted a marketing analysis of the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market for alopecia treatments, focusing on medicines and cosmetics containing minoxidil and its derivatives. The study found that the market was divided into two segments: "Medicines" with 4 medications from the D11AX group "Other dermatological drugs", and "Cosmetics" with 29 products, 17 of which contained minoxidil. The majority of these products were available over-the-counter and were in liquid form, including shampoos and balms. The study identified a lack of aminexil-based combined medicines and a small number of offerings from domestic producers.
