TLDR Children with alopecia areata in Singapore generally have a good quality of life.
The study assessed the quality of life (QoL) in 25 Singaporean children with alopecia areata (AA) using three questionnaires. Results indicated that AA generally does not significantly impact the QoL of these children and their families. Factors such as comorbidities like atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis were associated with better QoL outcomes, while a later age of onset was linked to higher family impact scores. The study concludes that pediatric patients with AA generally maintain a good QoL, and further research is needed to enhance care through medical and psychosocial interventions.
