A study conducted in Belagavi assessed the prevalence of premature greying in 400 school-going children aged 5 to 15 years, finding that 10.25% had grey hair. Using the Graying Severity Score (GSS), 61% of affected children had mild greying, 29% had moderate, and 10% had severe greying, with a mean GSS of 1.49 ± 0.62. The prevalence was higher in children aged 11-15 years.
