TLDR Telogen effluvium is a common hair loss condition that can be managed with proper treatment and addressing underlying issues.
Telogen effluvium is a common, non-scarring hair loss condition caused by disruptions in the hair growth cycle, with 34.2% of patients experiencing trichodynia. Acute cases often resolve within 6 months, while chronic cases may need treatment. Effective management includes addressing nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and avoiding hair-shedding medications. Treatments like minoxidil and Pantovigar, a vitamin and mineral supplement, can stimulate hair growth and prolong the anagen phase. Diagnostic approaches involve trichoscopy and lab tests. Pantovigar has shown good tolerability and efficacy in normalizing the hair cycle and promoting hair growth, even in androgenic alopecia.
