TLDR Porocarcinoma generally has low rates of recurrence, spread to lymph nodes, and death.
The study "Porocarcinoma: an epidemiological, clinical, and dermoscopic 20‐year study" conducted a retrospective analysis of 52 patients with 53 tumors diagnosed with Porocarcinoma (PC), a rare skin tumor, from 2000 to 2020. The patients, 59.6% men and 40.4% women, ranged in age from 49 to 96 years. The most common tumor locations were the head/neck region in men and the lower limb in women. Local excision was performed in 91% of cases, with a 4% local recurrence rate. Lymph node metastases were present in 6% of cases, and 2% of patients died due to PC. The study concluded that PC shows less aggressive behavior with low rates of local recurrence, nodal metastases, and mortality.
