TLDR Polysorbate 60 does not help with male pattern baldness.
A 1985 study investigated the efficacy of polysorbate 60 in treating male pattern baldness using a double-blind placebo-controlled trial with 141 participants. The study found no significant difference in hair growth between those treated with polysorbate 60 and those given a glycerin placebo over 16 weeks. Despite 25% of participants perceiving new hair growth, objective measurements did not support these claims, suggesting that the placebo effect might have influenced self-reported outcomes.
