Read the guide → Studysummary This pilot study found that an 8-week treatment with a hyaluronic acid and hydrogen peroxide gel improved folliculitis symptoms and patient satisfaction, supporting its potential use in dermatologic practice and future trials. Our plain-language summary of this paper — not a Tressless recommendation.
This pilot study assessed the efficacy and safety of Ialuxid® gel, a hyaluronic acid and hydrogen peroxide-based treatment, in managing folliculitis among 13 patients aged 22 to 44 over 8 weeks. The study found a significant reduction in lesions from a mean of 57.8 to 17.7 and a 66.6% improvement in the Total Severity Score. Patient satisfaction was high, with 76.9% very satisfied and 23.1% satisfied, and safety was excellent with only two mild adverse events. The study supports the gel's effectiveness in reducing folliculitis symptoms and improving quality of life, indicating the feasibility of a larger future trial.
