TLDR Psychological factors can cause hair and scalp problems.
The document discussed psychotrichology, which examined the psychosomatic aspects of hair and scalp disorders through the lens of analytical psychology, particularly Carl Jung's theories. It analyzed three cases where psychological factors were linked to hair problems: an 8-year-old girl developed total alopecia after witnessing domestic violence, a 43-year-old woman caused self-inflicted scalp dermatitis due to anxiety, and a 23-year-old woman experienced telogen effluvium and hyperprolactinemia following her mother's death. These cases highlighted the importance of understanding the symbolic and emotional aspects of hair disorders to better comprehend their onset and persistence.
