TLDR The treatment was effective for advanced non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
Peptichemio, combined with vincristine and 6-methylprednisolone (PVP), was used to treat 66 patients with stages III and IV diffuse non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. Of the 52 evaluable patients, the remission rate was 56.6% for diffuse lymphocytic poorly differentiated lymphomas and 55% for diffuse histiocytic lymphomas. The median duration of complete remission was 16 months for the former and 13 months for the latter. The treatment showed significant effectiveness in urgent cases like mediastinal involvement and spinal cord compression. Bone marrow depression was moderate and did not lead to therapy discontinuation, suggesting that the PVP protocol could significantly contribute to the chemotherapy of diffuse NHL.
