TLDR The uniform density approach in hair restoration is less noticeable in situations like wind or exercise.
The document from 1997 discusses two approaches to hair restoration surgery for extensive baldness (Norwood V1-V11): the graded and uniform density approaches. The uniform density approach, which provides coverage of the entire bald area, was found to offer less noticeable results as it doesn't draw attention to any specific part of the balding scalp. Both approaches were recommended for frontal forelock reconstruction. However, in less than ideal grooming situations such as wind, exercise, or swimming, the uniform density approach was observed to provide a less noticeable result.
