Pathological Studies of Cross-Related Congenital Hypotrichosis in Cattle

The study examined 13 cattle with cross-related congenital hypotrichosis, characterized by short, curly, dilute-color, malformed, and sometimes sparse hair coats, which occasionally caused physical impairment. The disease was associated with crossbreeding programs using certain European cattle breeds, suggesting that color dilution mutants might be the cause. Further investigation was recommended to better understand the disease.
