TLDR A 19-year-old male had two rare skin conditions causing scarring and permanent hair loss.
This case report described a 19-year-old male with a rare overlap of ulerythema ophryogenes and keratosis follicularis spinulosa decalvans, both folliculocentric keratotic disorders leading to progressive scarring and permanent hair loss. The patient exhibited erythematous, keratotic papules and hair loss primarily in the lateral eyebrows, which spread medially, and also had focal patchy alopecia on the scalp. Histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis, and a family history revealed similar hair loss in the patient's mother and maternal grandfather. This case highlighted the coexistence of these two conditions, which are typically genetically heterogeneous and progress until puberty.
