TLDR Ovarian hemangioma is a rare, benign tumor that can be treated effectively with surgical removal.
The document "Ovarian Hemangioma: a rare entity" from 2018 reported a case of a 41-year-old female who had been experiencing lower abdominal pain for 6 months. An ultrasonography revealed a cystic lesion at her right adnexa, which was heterogeneously echogenic and devoid of internal vascularity. Following a laparoscopic right adnexal cystectomy, a histopathological examination showed that the ovarian parenchyma had been replaced by a cavernous hemangioma, a rare and typically asymptomatic benign vascular tumor of the ovary. The authors emphasized the importance of correct diagnosis to avoid unnecessary radical surgery and treatment, as surgical excision is the treatment of choice for this condition.
