TLDR Cyproterone acetate temporarily reduces hair growth in women with idiopathic hirsutism but doesn't change hormone levels.
The study investigated the effects of oral cyproterone acetate on hair density and diameter in 11 women with idiopathic hirsutism over 12 treatment cycles. Results showed a reduction in hair density and diameter on the chin and left upper leg, but these effects were not permanent after stopping the therapy. Additionally, the treatment did not significantly alter plasma levels of testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone, and androstenedione.

A 20-year-old started taking finasteride for hair loss at 18, saw improvement, but developed erectile dysfunction (ED) after taking accutane. Despite stopping both medications, ED persisted, and hair loss worsened. Advice given includes considering tadalafil for ED, resuming finasteride, using minoxidil, and addressing psychological factors through positive thinking and lifestyle changes.
