TLDR Nutricosmetics for hair treatment often contain biotin, pyridoxine, zinc, and other nutrients, but more research and professional guidance are needed for their use.
The study analyzed the nutritional composition of 75 nutricosmetic products, which are nutritional supplements used for aesthetic purposes including hair and nail treatment. The most common ingredients found were biotin (88%), pyridoxine (82%), zinc (80%), selenium (61%), vitamin C and E (60%), and copper (33%). Bioactive compounds were also identified. These nutrients are associated with the growth and strengthening of hair and nails. However, the study emphasizes the need for more research on the effectiveness of these products and the guidance of a professional in prescribing them to align dietary patterns with nutritional supplementation needs.
