TLDR Nutritional care and education improved blood glucose control and nutrition in a Type 2 Diabetes patient.
This study focused on nursing care for a patient with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) at Labuang Baji General Hospital in Makassar, aiming to address nutritional needs. Conducted from June 12-15, 2019, the case study highlighted issues such as hair loss, anemia, and a non-healing leg wound, linked to unstable blood glucose levels. The nursing care approach involved family participation, nutritional management, and education on low glycemic index diets, alongside managing hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. Results indicated improved nutritional fulfillment, with dietary adherence and insulin administration effectively controlling blood glucose levels and increasing albumin levels.
