Natural Molecules in the Management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): An Analytical Review

    The review discusses the potential benefits of natural molecules in managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a disorder affecting up to 25% of women of reproductive age. The molecules include inositols, resveratrol, flavonoids and flavones, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids. The combination of Myo-Ins and D-Chiro-Ins in a 40:1 ratio has been found effective in restoring ovulation and normalizing crucial parameters in overweight and obese PCOS patients. Other molecules like resveratrol, naringenin, vitamins C, E, and D, and omega-3 fatty acids also show potential in managing PCOS, but their effects vary and more studies are needed. Omega-3 fatty acids, in particular, improve symptoms of PCOS in women over 40 years of age, but careful monitoring is necessary due to possible adverse effects.
