Natural Antivirals for the Management of SARS-COVID-19: A Review

    The review discussed the potential of natural compounds, specifically plant-synthesized secondary metabolites (PSMs), as therapeutic agents against COVID-19. Unlike allopathic medicines, which were effective but had severe side effects, PSMs were noted for their ability to combat a wide range of viral pathogens with minimal side effects. The review aimed to evaluate these natural metabolites by examining their sources, mechanisms of action, and previous pharmacological uses, suggesting that they could be a promising avenue for developing effective and safer treatments for COVID-19.
