TLDR Multimodal recruitment effectively gathered a diverse group for an online survey on ovulation and menstruation health.
The study tested the feasibility of using multimodal recruitment strategies to gather a diverse cohort for a web-based survey on ovulation and menstruation health. Over 29 weeks, 438 women were recruited, with 345 enrolling and 247 completing the survey. The participants had a median age of 25 years, a mean BMI of 26.1 kg/m², and 79.7% had a college degree or higher. The cohort was racially diverse, with 64.7% White, 11.8% Black/African American, 7.7% Latina/Hispanic, and 5.9% Asian individuals. The highest survey completion rates were from internet (91.4%) and community fair (98.4%) recruits. The study concluded that multimodal recruitment was effective in achieving target recruitment quickly and establishing a racially diverse cohort.
