TLDR The conclusion is that certain traits, including perceived facial aging and BMI, are linked to how youthful people look, with some differences between males and females.
This document describes a cross-trait genome-wide association meta-analysis of perceived youthfulness in the UK Biobank (UKBB), divided by sex. The study used Multi-trait Analysis of GWAS (MTAG) software and included traits with a genetic correlation greater than 10% and a P value < 2.3e-5. For females, traits included perceived facial aging, BMI, Vitamin E, C, and Zinc supplement use, age at first period, and contraceptive pill use. For males, traits included perceived facial aging, BMI, cigarettes per day, smoking status, male-pattern baldness, diabetes status, hypertension status, and age at first facial hair. The combined sex analysis included perceived facial aging, BMI, cigarettes per day, smoking status, liking of taking stairs, falls in the last year, use of false teeth, hypertension status, and Vitamin E and Zinc supplement use.
