TLDR Microneedling with 5% minoxidil works better for hair loss than using 5% minoxidil alone.
The study investigated whether combining microneedling with 5% minoxidil provided better treatment outcomes for androgenetic alopecia compared to using 5% minoxidil alone. Sixty patients aged 21-40 were divided into two groups: Group A received microneedling twice monthly followed by 5% minoxidil, while Group B used only 5% minoxidil. Results showed that Group A had significantly better improvement (p<0.05) than Group B. Common side effects included headache and erythema. The study concluded that microneedling with 5% minoxidil is a safe, simple, and cost-effective treatment, offering superior results compared to minoxidil alone.
