This study investigates acquired acrodermatitis enteropathica (AE), a rare condition often due to zinc deficiency from prolonged total parenteral nutrition (TPN). It highlights the case of a 51-year-old female with AE, who showed significant improvement after treatment with zinc gluconate, topical applications, and TPN support. Within a week, her symptoms, including erythema, pustules, and hair loss, improved notably, and erosive surfaces healed. The study emphasizes the importance of early recognition and effective treatment strategies for AE, providing valuable insights for its diagnosis and management.
