TLDR Metformin/dopamine-derived carbon dots help heal bacteria-infected wounds faster.
This study introduces metformin/dopamine-derived carbon dots (MD-CDs) as a novel treatment for bacteria-infected wounds, addressing the challenge of antibiotic resistance. MD-CDs, prepared through a hydrothermal reaction, possess inherent antibacterial properties that inhibit wound infection and accelerate the healing process. They promote the proliferation and migration of L929 cells, essential for tissue regeneration, and enhance collagen deposition and hair follicle regeneration in the healing phase. MD-CDs offer a promising alternative for treating infected wounds due to their bioactive and antibacterial characteristics.
