    The study explores the use of carbon dots derived from metformin and dopamine (MD-CDs) to enhance the healing of bacteria-infected wounds. These MD-CDs, created through a hydrothermal reaction, possess inherent antibacterial properties that effectively inhibit wound infections and accelerate the transition from the inflammation phase to the healing phase. The MD-CDs also promote the proliferation and migration of L929 cells, essential for tissue regeneration, and facilitate collagen deposition and hair follicle regeneration in the healing phase. This suggests that MD-CDs are a promising bioactive nanomaterial for treating infected wounds, offering an alternative to traditional antibiotics amidst rising antibiotic resistance.
