    Subrata K. Das, Saptadipa Das
TLDR Skin tags may be linked to metabolic syndrome.
This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between metabolic syndrome and skin tags by observing 47 patients at a dermatology outpatient department over one year. The study found that 11 out of 47 patients exhibited significant derangement in clinical and laboratory parameters associated with metabolic syndrome, as defined by the NCEP adult treatment panel III. The majority of patients were over 40 years old, and skin tags were most commonly found on the neck and axilla. The findings suggested a potential link between skin tags and metabolic syndrome.
