TLDR Modern hair restoration techniques offer natural results with minimal complications.
Surgical hair restoration has advanced significantly, moving from the outdated "plug" method to modern techniques like follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE). These methods, which can be performed manually, semi-automatically, or with robotic assistance, offer natural results and minimal complications. The procedure involves three main steps: graft harvesting, preparation, and placement, with postoperative care focusing on wound management. Innovations now allow for the use of scalp hair for body and facial hair restoration and vice versa, accommodating various patient needs and hair types. Future technological advancements are expected to further enhance the natural appearance and comfort of hair transplantation.
