TLDR A man regrew hair after using a 2% fluorouracil treatment on his scalp.
A 45-year-old man with a ten-year history of male pattern baldness began to regrow terminal hair after his scalp was treated with 2% fluorouracil for actinic keratosis. The treatment, which also included 0.5% triamcinolone acetonide cream, initially caused significant erythema and edema, leading to the discontinuation of fluorouracil. Upon follow-up several months later, hair regrowth was observed, suggesting a potential effect of fluorouracil on hair regrowth in male pattern baldness.
