Effects of M1 Homeopathic Complex on Human Melanoma Cells

The study investigates the potential of the M1 homeopathic complex as a less toxic treatment for melanoma, focusing on its effects on human melanoma cells (SK Mel28). M1, a combination of Calcarea carbonica and 18 other homeopathic compounds, previously showed promise against murine melanoma. In this study, M1 reduced human melanoma cell numbers by 16-27% in a medium with 5% FBS and by 53-61% in a medium with 1% FBS, without increasing cell death, indicating an inhibition of cell proliferation rather than cytotoxicity. These promising results suggest M1 could be a candidate for melanoma treatment, with further in vitro and in vivo studies planned.
