TLDR Vaccination helps reduce long COVID symptoms in women with PCOS.
This retrospective cohort pilot study evaluated 44 vaccinated women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who had previously contracted COVID-19, focusing on long COVID symptoms and the impact of vaccination on PCOS symptoms. The study found that 70% of participants reported persistent long COVID symptoms, particularly fatigue and hair loss. Importantly, COVID-19 vaccination did not exacerbate PCOS symptoms, highlighting the importance of vaccination to prevent long COVID sequelae. The findings suggest that vaccination is crucial for mitigating symptom severity and reducing the occurrence of long-term COVID-19 symptoms in women with PCOS.
