TLDR A miner developed extra shoulder hair due to long-term work pressure and inflammation.
This case report discusses a miner who developed localized acquired hypertrichosis (LAH) on his shoulder due to inflammation and local pressure from over 20 years of mining work. LAH is typically caused by factors such as surgery, injections, or wearing a plaster cast, and it often resolves once the causative factor is removed. In this case, statistical analysis showed no significant difference in hair thickness between the miner's shoulders, and images of the hair were captured using a scanning electron microscope.
