TLDR Laser therapy and acupuncture helped regrow hair in a patient.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and acupuncture in treating hair loss in a patient with alopecia caused by bed sores and alopecia areata. Over approximately 3 months, the patient underwent 29 sessions of laser therapy, acupuncture, and herbal medicine, resulting in significant hair regrowth as shown by standardized photography. The study concluded that LLLT is effective for treating alopecia and can shorten treatment duration, though it was limited by being a single case and variability in photography conditions.
