TLDR The LED light therapy mask improved skin elasticity and reduced signs of aging in a test and in women aged 40-60.
The study investigated the anti-aging effects of a home-use LED mask with a combination wavelength of 630 nm and 850 nm on human skin. In an ex vivo experiment, skin explants were exposed daily for 1 week to the light therapy mask, which was found to increase the size of elastic fibers, a key component providing stretch and elasticity to the skin. In a clinical study involving 30 women aged 40-60 with phototype I to IV, the mask was used 3 to 4 times a week for 2 months. Instrumental and clinical measurements were taken to assess signs of aging such as wrinkles, skin mechanical properties, radiance, and pores. Significant clinical improvement was observed at the end of the treatment, suggesting that the light therapy mask may provide an effective treatment for skin aging signs.
