TLDR Laser therapy is effective for treating vascular lesions with the right light settings and trained professionals.
Laser therapy is a crucial tool in treating vascular lesions, providing excellent results when the correct parameters are selected and applied by trained personnel. The therapy works by using specific wavelengths of light, with optimal absorption for superficial blood vessels between 577 and 600 nm, and for deeper vessels between 800 and 1200 nm. Various types of lasers, such as the Potassium Titanyl Phosphate (KTP) laser, are used for different vascular lesions. For instance, facial telangiectasias and diffuse facial erythema, which respond poorly to medical treatment, can be effectively treated with laser therapy. The future of this technology aims to simplify its use and implement combined tools to target different types of lesions. An alternative light therapy to laser, called TRASER, has also shown efficiency in treating nasal telangiectasias.
