TLDR Lasers have become safer and more effective for treating skin problems and hair removal.
In the past 16 years, there have been significant advancements in laser technology for treating skin disorders. New pulsed dye lasers with dynamic cooling have optimized the treatment of vascular lesions, such as port-wine stains. Safety improvements have made laser hair removal safe for individuals with dark skin, and the use of exogenous melanin and radiofrequency devices has enabled the removal of light-colored hair. Fractional resurfacing technology has filled the gap between ablative and non-ablative lasers, offering a new option for skin resurfacing. Additionally, the introduction of pneumatic suction devices has potentially increased the comfort and efficacy of laser treatments.
