Laser hair removal emerged as a popular method for both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, performed on an outpatient basis. Despite the variety of laser techniques making efficacy studies challenging, short-term data indicated promising results. However, achieving permanent hair removal remained elusive as of 2006.
