TLDR Lactium, a milk protein, can help reduce symptoms of skin disorders linked to stress and anxiety without side effects.
Lactium, a milk protein hydrolysate containing a bioactive decapeptide called α Casozepine, can be used to alleviate symptoms of psychocutaneous disorders, which are skin diseases affected by the patient's psychological and mental state. These disorders, including acne, alopecia areata, and psoriasis, can often be exacerbated by emotional stress and anxiety. Lactium binds to GABAA receptors in the central nervous system, reducing neurotransmission and regulating anxiety and stress without sedative effects. It has been shown to decrease serum cortisol levels, improve sleep quality, decrease anxiety and general fatigue, and reduce stress-induced symptoms in several preclinical and clinical studies. Lactium can be used as an adjuvant in managing stress-induced conditions like acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia, urticaria, vitiligo, and many more. It is safe with no side effects or adverse events and does not affect the cognitive ability of the patients.
