TLDR Kenogen increases with hair loss in women.
This study examined the relationship between kenogen (the physiological interval of the hair cycle in which the hair follicle remains empty after telogen) and female Androgenetic Alopecia. Using the phototrichogram technique, it was found that the number of kenogen phases increased in parallel with vellus hairs and a diminished number of normal hair cycles, features that mark AGA aggravation. It was also observed that kenogen can involve both terminal hairs and vellus hairs and may be related to the progression of female AGA.
