TLDR A single long white eyelash is a rare but benign condition.
In 2015, a case was reported of a 9-year-old girl with an unusual physical feature: an isolated long white eyelash on her upper left eyelid. This eyelash, which was a terminal hair, could grow up to 5 cm in length and took around 2 months to regrow if plucked out. The girl's growth and development were normal, and her physical examination was otherwise unremarkable. The only notable aspect of her family history was her father's premature greying of hair at age 35. This case was unique in the medical literature at the time, but similar cases were found on various internet sites. The authors suggested that medical professionals should look beyond traditional journals to understand the full range of medical phenomena.
