TLDR PRP is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss.
This review article evaluates the effectiveness of intradermotherapy with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in treating hair loss, particularly alopecia. PRP stimulates new hair growth by promoting the formation of new blood vessels, enhancing oxygenation, and accelerating the anagen (growth) phase while reducing the telogen (resting) phase of hair follicles. The study highlights PRP's benefits, including its safety as an autologous blood product, which minimizes adverse reactions. The review also discusses the potential of PRP combined with other techniques for treating alopecia and preventing baldness in genetically predisposed individuals. The findings support PRP's use as a safe and effective method for hair therapy.
